Getting Ready to Welcome

Getting Ready to Welcome

Although we have already resettled three families there is always much for us to learn and new ideas for us to consider. We found the whole session stimulating and even had the energy to chat briefly afterwards!

About this training

This training will equip your group with the confidence it needs to make final preparations before the family is welcomed into the community.

After being approved by the Home Office to welcome a family,  Community Sponsorship groups need to attend this training. Empowerment, boundaries and cultural differences are topics that need to be considered as a group to ensure the family can thrive in the community and become independent.

Why is Reset a leader in this field

This training has been developed by Reset on behalf of the Home Office to ensure that Community Sponsorship groups are fully prepared to welcome a family.

Who will deliver this course

One of our Programmes Team will deliver the training. They support Community Sponsorship groups from the start until the end of their journey. They have a deep understanding of what groups need to do to prepare themselves to welcome a family.

Very useful to stimulate discussion within the group about issues they may have assumed we all agreed on or took as granted and, in particular, expectations and boundaries being really well thought through and agreed before the arrival of the family.
