Overview
An Introduction to Community Sponsorship session is an opportunity for you to learn all about this unique refugee resettlement programme. We’ll outline how it came about in the UK, share insights and videos from people with first-hand experience, and explain what is involved so that you can get started!
How will this course work
The session will last one hour and will be delivered via Zoom.
Who is this course for?
This intro session is for anyone who’s heard of community-led welcome, or Community Sponsorship and wants to see what it might mean for them. You might have been might been inspired by the Homes for Ukraine programme or heard a story about people exiled and displaced and want to make a difference. Or you might work for a local authority and have been approached by someone wanting to set up a group. Whatever the reason that’s brought you here – we have the answers!
Aims of this course:
This course will provide a history of the programme and an overview of what the process looks like for either individuals wishing to form a group OR people wanting to see if there’s a group already in their local area and to join them.
Why is Reset a leader in this field
Reset has been training and supporting groups since 2018. We have supported over 300 community groups to welcome over 1000 refugees into the UK.
Who will deliver this course
A member of Reset‘s Progammes Team will deliver the training. Led by experts: our experienced trainers from the Reset Programmes Team will guide you through this session. Having supported numerous Community Sponsorship groups from start to finish, they bring invaluable insights, real-world experiences, and practical advice tailored to your journey.
You’ll get access to the course by registering online for the one hour session.
